SPoRTS Advanced – 2-Day Course
SPoRTS – Standard Principles of Resuscitation & Trauma in Sport – Advanced is a two-day immediate-care course for healthcare professionals who may be responsible for managing injured or acutely unwell participants in the pitch-side or field-of-play environment.
Building on the principles covered in the 1-Day SPoRTS course, the Advanced programme incorporates resuscitation, trauma and medical emergency management within a structured two-day programme.
Course Content
A major emphasis is placed on practical skills and realistic scenarios. Participants work both as team members and team leaders, developing clinical decision-making, communication and the coordinated management of sports emergencies.
Who is it for?
The course is designed for healthcare professionals involved, or intending to become involved, in sports immediate care, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, physiotherapists and other appropriately qualified healthcare professionals.
Basic Life Support
Unlike the 1-Day SPoRTS course, the 2-Day SPoRTS Advanced programme incorporates resuscitation training and practical resuscitation skills as part of the course. Participants should nevertheless have a working knowledge of Basic Life Support appropriate to their professional role.
Certification
Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive a SPoRTS Advanced – 2-Day Course certificate.
